Detailed rules and information for players on the SGVE Minecraft Server
A) General rules
- By playing on the server the player accepts all the rules below. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse.
- Breaking any of the rules below can result in a punishment up to a permanent BAN, depending on severity.
- The rules may change at any time without prior notice.
- Any form of cheating (cheats, hacks, custom mods and the like) is forbidden.
- Anyone who finds an error or bug on the server must report it immediately to info@sgve.eu.
- Advertising of any kind is strictly forbidden on the server (this includes the chat!).
B) Spawn
- The spawn area is a protected zone of 1500×1500 blocks (marked on the map).
- In this area it is in particular forbidden to:
- build and mine resources,
- set your home,
- destroy public buildings,
- hunt animals, cut trees or otherwise damage the fauna and flora,
- take lava from lava lakes, mine ice, snow and so on,
- fight and kill other players (outside the designated areas).
C) World
- It is forbidden to destroy transport devices (gates) and the infrastructure used for travelling.
- Players must not needlessly damage the fauna and flora on land, in water or in the air (burning forests, killing herds of animals and so on).
- It is forbidden to destroy naturally generated structures on land or in water (villages, pyramids, temples, ships and so on).
- Players must not damage structures in the Nether and the End either.
- It is forbidden to damage the natural character of the landscape, in particular:
- flattening large areas,
- building unnatural and pointless structures (pillars, platforms and the like),
- digging pointless pits and holes down to bedrock,
- building floating structures,
- creating fields of burning netherrack or lava,
- leaving half-cut trees,
- damaging coral reefs.
- Creating any inscriptions, symbols and the like is forbidden. Exceptions are decided by the admins or the server owners.
D) Player
- The player must:
- not violate the laws of the Czech Republic or the rules of decent behaviour,
- behave politely on the server – vulgarity, insults, racism, inappropriate remarks and the like will not be tolerated,
- use a name and a skin that do not violate point 1,
- respect the orders and decisions of higher ranks (admin, owner).
- The player must not:
- impersonate (by behaviour, name or appearance) another player or a higher rank (admin, owner),
- play with more than one account,
- harass others on the server in any way (in person, through chat and so on),

- The player has the right to:
- ask the admins for advice or help,

- The player has no right to:
- the return of items and equipment they carried when they died,
- material support from the admins (food, resources, tools).
- The following applies to newly connected players:
- After the first connection the player may receive a one-off basic kit (stone tools, sword).
- A new player has no right to any further help. We play survival, so everyone has to take care of themselves.
- After the first connection the player goes in any direction at least 1500 blocks from spawn, where they may start building a home (in line with section D).
- An admin may help a new player at the beginning (typically setting day instead of night), but this is not a rule.
E) Building a home
- A player may build a home:
- at least 1500 blocks from spawn,
- at the place where they started building first (unless the players agree otherwise),
- far enough from other players (unless the players agree otherwise).
- A player may set a home:
- in line with paragraph 1,
- at the place they permanently live (where they built their home).
- A player may set a residence:
- in line with paragraphs 1 and 2,
- so that it does not overlap with another player's residence.
- The player must finish their house or tear it down and start building elsewhere (in line with the rules).
- If they do not, after a month of inactivity they will be asked to finish the house.
- If they do not do so within 14 days of the request, their home may be demolished without compensation.
- Such an unfinished house may be demolished even if the player has a home and a residence set on it.
- When building houses we respect the player's creativity as much as possible. It is however forbidden to:
- build ugly houses ("boxes") from dirt, sand or gravel,
- build floating houses,
- build houses whose appearance significantly (and unnaturally/illogically) disrupts the surroundings. In such cases an admin will contact you and you will agree on the next steps.
F) Property protection
- The following items of a player are protected automatically:
- chests,
- furnaces,
- dispensers.
- With a command the player can additionally protect:
- signs,
- doors.
- The protection of all the items above can be removed with a command (see section I).
- Buildings can be protected with a residence.
- If a player does not protect their property (unlocks chests, does not set a residence), they have no right to its return (or restoration) in case of griefing (theft, destruction).
G) Communication
- When communicating with others the player must follow the rules in section D, paragraph 1, points 1 and 2.
- When communicating players must also:
- write properly, not use caps lock, not overuse symbols (exclamation marks, question marks and so on),
- not post any advertising,
- not flood the chat with nonsense.
- These rules apply everywhere: in chats (in game, on the dynmap) and in communication with info@sgve.eu.
H) Disputes and rule violations
- Resolving disputes between players
- Try to resolve all disputes and problems with other players by talking to each other first.

- If you witness another player breaking the rules, report it to an admin. If no admin is present, document the event and send it to info@sgve.eu.

- When writing an e-mail please:
- put "Minecraft – complaint" in the subject,
- describe briefly and clearly what happened,
- support your statement with evidence (screenshot, video),
- note that another player's testimony cannot be taken as evidence.
- The player has the right to have their case reviewed (the punishment given, new evidence and so on).
- If you disagree with a punishment given by an admin or want to ask for an unban, write to info@sgve.eu with "Minecraft – appeal" in the subject.
